High Relief Georgian Diamond Amethyst Cameo Brooch

Pieces like these transcend being a piece of jewelry alone; this is history. Made some time between the early 1700’s and the early 1800’s, this brooch has been hand made in silver and 18K yellow gold. It is centered by a partially faceted and carved, high-relief amethyst cameo and surrounded by numerous old mine and rose cut diamonds. There is a pin closure as well as a hook on the back so that it can be hung as a pendant which is original to the piece.
