Vintage 50’s 18K Diamond Cabochon Coral Jade Lapis Onyx Floral Brooch

$7,500.00Price

A striking example of mid-century high jewelry, this circa 1950s brooch is crafted in 18 karat white gold and combines diamonds with richly colored natural materials in an elaborate floral and foliate composition. Carved black onyx forms a dramatic scalloped border, while cabochon natural jade, coral, and lapis lazuli introduce saturated green, coral, and blue accents throughout the design. Three prominent bezel-set Old European cut diamonds anchor the composition: the largest weighs approximately 1.00 carat and grades approximately H–I color and I1 clarity, while the two additional diamonds weigh approximately 0.80 carat each and average H–I color with SI1–SI2 clarity. A further approximately 1.75 carats of round diamonds, averaging H–I color and VS2–SI1 clarity, are intricately set throughout the white-gold floral elements. The juxtaposition of carved hardstone, coral, jade, and substantial antique-cut diamonds gives the brooch exceptional dimension and presence—a highly decorative statement jewel with the unmistakable glamour and craftsmanship of the 1950s.
