Vintage 14K Platinum Trabert Hoefer Mauboussin Emerald Sapphire Diamond Brooch
An exceptional bespoke brooch from the late 1930s to early 1940s, created by Trabert & Hoefer for Mauboussin as part of their highly exclusive “Reflections” collection. These pieces were commissioned individually for private clients and were never mass produced, making surviving examples particularly significant.
The brooch is masterfully crafted in 14 karat yellow gold and rose gold with platinum accents, forming a sculptural, dimensional composition that reflects the bold modernist elegance of the era. The interplay of warm yellow and rose tones against the cool platinum details enhances the dramatic curvature of the design.
It is set with approximately 12.00 carats total weight of natural emerald cabochons, richly saturated and beautifully proportioned. Accenting the emeralds are approximately 1.00 carat total weight of natural royal blue round-cut sapphires and diamonds, adding contrast and refinement throughout the piece.
The brooch retains both the maker’s stamp and the original commissioning inscription, underscoring its bespoke origin and historical importance. Substantial in scale and weight, this is a collector-level jewel from one of the most innovative American design houses of the period.
