An antique 18k yellow gold Pietra Dura (hard stone) brooch with pearls & rubies (c. 1870-1880). This exquisite brooch showcases a pietra dura mosaic featuring the Birds of Pliny, beautifully set in 18k gold and accented with lustrous pearls and vibrant rubies.
Brooch measures 1.50” in diameter and weighs 8g.
The original Victorian frame is in very good condition is exhibiting a beautiful patina with no damage. The central inlay portion is undamaged and still exhibiting almost perfect color.
